Earth is conquered. The Shongairi have arrived in force, and humanity’s cities lie in radioactive ruins. In mere minutes, over half the human race has died. Now Master Sergeant Stephen Buchevsky, who thought he was being rotated home from his latest tour in Afghanistan, finds himself instead prowling the back country of the Balkans, dodging alien patrols and trying to organize the scattered survivors without getting killed. His chances look bleak. The aliens have definitely underestimated human tenacity - but no amount of heroism can endlessly hold off overwhelming force. Then, emerging from the mountains and forests of Eastern Europe, new allies present themselves to the ragtag human resistance. Predators, creatures of the night, human in form but inhumanly strong. Long Enemies of humanity . . . until now. Because now is the time to defend Earth.

OUT OF THE DARK captures the colourful interplay and beauty of the night-time colours seen in Alfred Muma's paintings. The shapeling war had ended but left Taellus in ruin, its people broken and struggling to mend the pieces. On the verge of ascension, Barr struggled as well, to make sense of his past lives and understand his true purpose. Fluora by his side, coping with her own new powers as Matron, things began to take a turn for the worse. The children gods, made mortal, were being hunted one by one. Through fiery rifts between realms came new creatures of nightmare, umbrals twisted and remade by the madness of a banished god, and with them a blight that stole furie from the land. Every world at risk, all of life at stake, the only hope to survive was in joining the disparate races to a common cause. Quarrels aside, they had to ready for his return, for the blight that preceded him, for the horrors that would come from… Out of the Dark.
As significant current events unfold all around us and voices are heard everywhere, saying "look here" and "look there", it is important that we keep our feet firmly grounded on the Word of God. Outside God''s Word there is no stability and it is easy to be alarmed or sidetracked by spectacular forecasts that have very little substance to them. Our primary task as Christians is to know what God''s Word says about the last days and to refuse any information that may be hearsay and which cannot be reconciled with the Scriptures. Anyone could write a book about last things, and many do, but it''s wise to take much of what is written with a pinch of salt. However, when, as in the case of Revelation, the author is God Himself, it is necessary that the facts be well affirmed. And in the opening verses John takes pains to impress upon his readers the accuracy and reliability of what he is about to write. The information did not originate with him. It came from God the Father to God the Son and was then communicated to John by an angel. Although our English Bibles record the title of this book as "The Revelation of John", it is not about John, nor his revelation. It is about Jesus Christ in His role as ruler, conqueror and controller of all things, spiritual and temporal. When Jesus said to His disciples, ''''All power is given unto me in Heaven and on earth" that is precisely what He meant, namely, ALL power, total control over all things. My prayer is that this commentary will help to clarify the immense scope of this book of Revelation to the minds of those who read it.

The second in a series of novels named 'Ends & Means' is set in the University sector and considers the effect of matters beyond the control of individuals, on their responsibilities and behaviour. Disasters, man-made or otherwise have effects far beyond those immediately affected. The consequences ripple from the source with no regard to the limits of personal trauma. In October 1966 there was a tragedy in a small mining village in South Wales when a waste tip slid down the mountainside, engulfing a farmhouse, a primary school and a row of houses. 116 children and 28 adults were buried alive in a sea of slurry. No-one's life would ever be the same again.
