What is our participation in the divine humanity? In explaining this important doctrine, Sergius Bulgakov begins by surveying the field of Christology with special reference to the divine humanity. He considers the role of the Divine Sophia, examines the foundations of the Incarnation, explores the nature of Christ's divine consciousness, and ponders Christ's ministries while on earth. A profound discussion of Christ's kenosis as a model for humanity rounds out this comprehensive and valuable study. The Lamb of God is one of the greatest works of Christology in the twentieth century and a crowning achievement in the examination of the theology of divine humanity.
This commentary on Revelation is for those who are looking for an easy-to-read, biblically central, and Christologically focused commentary on one of the most intriguing books of the Bible. It is a shame that pastors and followers of Jesus avoid the book of Revelation because of the confusing theories they heard about in the past, or just too many movies! This commentary attempts to get away from the needless debate (though different views are presented) and focus the reader's attention on the primary focus of the book, the Lamb of God. The Lamb holds history in his hand by virtue of his eternal authority and his invested authority because of the blood that he spilled and his testimony. Therein lies his victory, and therein lies the victory for those who follow him.
This book is for those who desire to have a deeper relationship with God the Father throughJesus Christ our Lord. Our fellowship is with the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. To understand the Bible we must see it through the eyes of God in His love for the world, how he has showered his mercy and grace through his Son Jesus Christ that we might live in his immediate presence forever. As you can see in the following scripture God has accomplished everything in Christ for us. Without Christ there is no life or salvation for anyone. “Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us in the heavenly places with all spiritual blessings in Christ. For God chose us in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his ( God’s) sight. In love God predestined us to be adopted as sons through Jesus Christ, according to God’s good pleasure and will to the praise of his glorious grace which God freely given us in his beloved Son. In Christ we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of God’s grace that God has lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. And God made known to us the mystery of his will , according to his good pleasure, which God purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfi llment to bring all things in heaven and on earth under one head even Christ.” ( Ephesians 1:3-10)( Paraphrased by the author)
Seeing Jesus in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy
Author: Nancy Guthrie
“For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me.” (John 5:46) Jesus's declaration frames this study of four books of the Pentateuch—Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy—as we discover the many ways that Moses wrote about Christ. Seasoned Bible teacher Nancy Guthrie shows that the Bible's story from beginning to end is the story of the Lamb—the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Over ten weeks of guided personal bible study, relevant teaching, and group discussion, you will see the person and work of Christ: in the person of Moses as a great deliverer, mediator, and prophet; in the manna, the water from the rock, and the bronze serpent on the pole; and in the priesthood, tabernacle, and sacrificial system. Gain a fresh perspective on the story of Israel's deliverance and journey, a broader understanding of Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture, and much more, when you join with Nancy on this incredible journey to see Jesus in the Old Testament! * A leader's guide is available as a free download at SeeingJesusInTheOldTestament.com and a supplemental DVD of Nancy’s teaching is also available for purchase.
Besides bringing a Christ-centered perspective to the ancient Hebrews’ observance of the Passover, this Seder service provides an extraordinarily rich worship experience for all Christians. Old Testament prophecies about the Messiah come alive as the entire congregation or family unit is focused on the true meaning of this Maundy Thursday celebration of deliverance and praise. Everyone participates in relating the thrilling story of how God delivered His chosen people from the bonds of slavery and sin, and provided for all their needs in the wilderness. Throughout the Seder, the significance of our Lord’s Last Supper with His disciples is made poignantly clear. His sacrifice on the cross and His resurrection truly make this a time of rejoicing and victory! Kosher recipes are also included for those wishing to include a full Passover meal.
